Chapter 52 Tamayo and Yushiro
Chapter 52 Tamayo and Yushiro
"Who are you……?"
On the streets of Tokyo, petals fluttered down, creating a barrier that shielded the city from the noise.
Ignoring the shouts of the police behind her, Mizuko kept her eyes fixed on the woman in the kimono opposite her and asked warily.
"As you can see, I am a ghost too."
The woman's voice was as gentle as a spring breeze, and her fingertips lightly brushed the wound on her arm, making the flowing petals even lighter.
"But I am also a doctor. Just now I heard you say that you want to kill Muzan Kibutsuji... and I have the same goal as you, to kill Muzan Kibutsuji."
As she spoke, her gaze slowly fell on Tanjiro beside her, a knowing look flashing in her eyes.
"However, I now understand why you saved her."
Nezuko subconsciously turned to look at Tanjiro, and their eyes met.
The moment the siblings' eyes met, they both understood the doubts and wariness in each other's hearts.
"Can I trust you?" Midouzi frowned slightly, her tone tinged with a hint of uncertainty.
"Hey! How dare you talk to Ms. Tamayo like that, you ugly monster!"
The boy next to Tamayo immediately bristled, frowning and shouting sternly, his tone full of protectiveness.
Midouzi froze instantly, her whole body stiffening on the spot, her mind buzzing.
Ugly...ugly...ugly monster? Who is he talking about?
Tanjiro, standing to the side, also widened his eyes, revealing his signature beady eyes, and his head swiveled back and forth between Nezuko and Yushiro like a rattle-drum.
The next second, Tanjiro seemed to have been turned on, his face flushed red, and he frantically gestured at Yushiro, stammering as he spoke:
"So...beautiful! Midouzi...is...our...most...most beautiful!"
His words, spoken in fits and starts, were filled with an urgent desire to protect her.
Yushiro glanced at him, his face full of disdain as he curled his lip.
"If you can't even finish your sentence, just shut up!"
"Yushiro!!" Tamayo's voice carried a hint of sternness.
"Yes, Miss Tamayo!"
Yushiro immediately straightened his back and responded respectfully, his change in attitude so swift it was astonishing.
"You must not be rude to others."
"Yes, Miss Tamayo!"
Yushiro lowered his head, his expression serious and respectful, but in his heart, pink waves had already been stirred.
Even when she's stern, Ms. Tamayo is beautiful... especially now, surrounded by flower petals!
"snort!"
Tanjiro puffed out his cheeks in frustration, realizing he hadn't been able to utter a complete sentence after struggling for so long.
He snorted heavily at Yushiro, looking just like a squirrel that had been provoked.
Nizuko finally realized what was happening, immediately concealing her astonishment. She then puffed out her cheeks and glared at Yushiro, just like Tanjiro did.
The brother and sister both made the same puffed-up expression.
Tamayo glanced around and then spoke to Nezuko.
"Let's leave here first, there are more and more people coming, Yushiro!"
"Yes, Ms. Tamayo!"
When Yushiro heard Tamayo call his name, he immediately understood.
He took out a piece of paper with a ghost eye drawn on it in red cinnabar and stuck it on the forehead of the woman who had turned into a ghost.
It also landed heavily on the foreheads of Nezuko and Tanjiro.
Seeing this, Nezuko was curious and wanted to ask, but was rudely interrupted by Yushiro.
"Shut up, Miss Tamayo is canceling the Blood Demon Art!"
Midouzi was taken aback, then looked around as the petal barrier slowly disappeared, exposing them to the crowd. But strangely, they couldn't seem to see them.
"This is Yushiro's Blood Demon Art, which allows him to become invisible. Please follow me."
Tamayo spoke in a gentle tone, then gestured for him to proceed.
Seeing this, Midouzi looked apologetically at the woman who was still struggling.
"I'm sorry, I've offended you!"
After saying that, Midouzi knocked the demonized woman unconscious with a karate chop.
Seeing this, Tanjiro quickly picked up the woman and followed Tamayo and the others.
After passing through several quiet alleys, Tamayo led the group into an inconspicuous house.
The wooden door creaked open, revealing a simple and tranquil courtyard, a world apart from the hustle and bustle outside.
Yushiro went in first, pushing open the door to the side room with practiced ease.
The dim light illuminated the rows of glass bottles in the room, which were filled with various medicinal liquids, and a faint herbal scent filled the air.
"Put her on that rattan chair," Tamayo said gently, pointing to the rattan chair in the corner of the room.
Tanjiro carefully put the demonized woman down and then stood next to Nezuko.
Nezuko gripped her Nichirin Blade tightly, standing to the side warily surveying her surroundings. When her gaze swept over the glass bottles, she couldn't help but linger for a few more seconds.
Yushiro closed the door tightly, then turned to the brother and sister and said irritably.
"Don't look around! These are all medicines developed by Miss Tamayo. You can't afford to pay for them if you damage them!"
Tamayo glanced at him lightly, and Yushiro immediately shut his mouth and obediently stood aside.
"Your brother seems very different!"
Tamayo slowly looked at Tanjiro and asked gently.
Mizuko also looked at her brother, not understanding the meaning behind Tamayo's words.
"In a thousand years, I am the first demon to break free from Muzan's curse."
Tamayo's voice fell softly, yet it struck Mizuko like a thunderclap.
"A thousand...a thousand years? You..."
Mizuko's eyes widened suddenly, and she looked at Tamayo with a shocked expression.
The second half of the sentence, "How old are you?", was just about to be uttered when Yushiro slapped him hard on the back.
"How rude! You shouldn't ask a girl's age!"
Yushiro's menacing voice exploded in my ears, his eyes full of warning.
However, before Nezuko could even cover her back and protest, Tanjiro had already instinctively stretched out his arms to protect Nezuko behind him.
He gave Yushiro a heavy "humph," full of vigilance and protest.
"Yushiro, you mustn't use violence," Tamayo said gently, her voice tinged with a hint of helplessness.
Mizuko rubbed her back, which was sore from being slapped, and had no mind to argue with Yushiro. She just looked up at Tamayo with a face full of apology.
"sorry!"
"It's alright." Tamayo shook her head, her gentle gaze returning to Tanjiro, her tone still calm. "Tell me about your brother."
"My brother? He doesn't seem any different from you guys?" Midouzi frowned, her face full of doubt.
"No, it's different." Tamayo shook her head gently, her gaze fixed on Tanjiro, her tone firm, "I don't smell blood on him."
"The taste of blood?" Nezuko was stunned and subconsciously looked at Tanjiro beside her.
"Um."
Tamayo nodded, her voice calm yet tinged with a hint of heaviness.
"Although I have broken free from Muzan's curse, I still need human blood to survive. This is the instinct of all demons, without exception."
"What?"
(There will be more and more battle scenes later, so please be patient. As for why the current perspective is focused on Nezuko, it's mainly because in my setting, Tanjiro's voice system hasn't been restored yet, so the perspective is only led by Nezuko. Things will be different later! ♥)
